August

8/18/26

The 2026 IMGA benchmarking cycle is now officially closed. Thank you to all member groups who participated and contributed their data to this year’s initiative.

The CBIZ team is now reviewing, validating, and compiling the data, and we look forward to sharing the results with participating groups soon. We’ll also highlight key takeaways and the value of Member-Generated Metrics (MGM) during the IMGA 2026 Annual Forum.

Missed this year’s cycle? Stay tuned—we’ll be in touch with opportunities to participate in next year’s benchmarking initiative.

8/04/26

Thank you again to the groups that have already submitted their benchmarking data. We have received 22 submissions to date, with several additional organizations planning to submit this week.

If you have already confirmed your submission, please disregard this reminder.

The final deadline to submit your data to CBIZ is August 7. This timeline allows the CBIZ team to review and validate the data, make any necessary adjustments, and complete the benchmarking analysis in advance of the IMGA 2026 Annual Forum, where the results and key insights will be presented.

Participating groups will receive benchmarking across 41 operational, financial, staffing, and facility metrics, providing valuable insight into how their organization compares with peer independent medical groups.

A few reminders about the process:

  • Time commitment: Approximately 4–8 hours to complete the survey and respond to any follow-up questions from CBIZ.
  • Data requested: High-level balance sheet and income statement information, provider and staff headcount/FTEs, specialties, and office square footage.
  • Designed for ease: This first-round survey focuses on information that is generally easy to access and compile.

We sincerely appreciate the time and effort involved in completing the survey and look forward to sharing the benchmarking results and key insights with the group at the IMGA 2026 Annual Forum.

7/23/26

We’re excited to share that nearly 40 independent medical groups are planning to participate in this round of IMGA Benchmarking.

The data submission period closes at the end of this month as CBIZ begins preparing the results that will be presented at the IMGA 2026 Annual Forum.

Participating groups will receive benchmarking across 41 operational, financial, staffing, and facility metrics, providing valuable insight into how their organization compares with peer independent medical groups.

A few reminders about the process:

If you have any questions about the survey, submission process, or data requirements, please reach out directly to the CBIZ team.

If your group has not yet submitted its data, we encourage you to begin the process soon to ensure your participation before the submission window closes.

CBIZ has extended the data submission deadline, but the round will be closing soon as they prepare results for the IMGA 2026 Annual Forum.

Is your group interested in receiving 41 operational, financial, staffing, and facility metrics?

Here are a few more details on the process:

  • Time commitment: Approximately 4-8 hours to complete the survey and respond to any follow-up questions from CBIZ.

5/13/26

Thank you to the groups who helped launch IMGA’s first benchmarking initiative. The 2024 report was an important start because it gave each participant a baseline: where you stand today and how you compare to your peers.

But the real value comes next.

With a second year of data, benchmarking becomes much more powerful. It is no longer just a snapshot of where you stand; it begins to show where you are going, how you are trending, and whether the changes you are making are moving the needle.

We’re preparing to launch 2025 data collection this month, and strongly encourage all member groups to participate. This year’s report should be even more valuable, as participation is expected to grow from 22 practices to approximately 40, creating a broader and stronger comparison set.

As before, all data will remain confidential and blinded, and every participating group will receive the full benchmark report. The results will also be reviewed at the IMGA 2026 Annual Forum in Park City this fall.

To confirm your group’s participation, please email elizabeth@imgalliance.org by May 27, 2026. Your group will be connected with CBIZ to submit data. The analysis will be shared in late summer and reviewed at IMGA 2026.

4/9/26

The initial benchmarking data was distributed to 22 member groups on April 9. We’ve seen a strong response so far – please continue directing any data-specific questions to the CBIZ team. We’ll soon begin the data collection process for 2025 which will be presented at the 2026 annual forum. The template will be similar to this year’s and is expected to be distributed in mid-May. If you have not yet registered for IMGA 2026, you can do so here.

3/11/26

The CBIZ team has indicated they are targeting mid-March to share the benchmarking data with participants. They recently completed data collection with the final participating group and have since been working to review, clean, and compile the information into graphs and tables for distribution.

2/6/26

Beginning next week, the CBIZ team plans to work closely with participating groups to review submissions, address any questions, and resolve data outliers. Following that process, they will finalize the updated benchmarking and anticipate sharing the initial benchmarking visuals with participants in early March. If you have any questions about the benchmarking status at this time, contact Josh Roth, Senior Manager at CBIZ Advisors.
